Product Design
I was part of a team in charge of developing a redesign for the Shop section of the Dentsply Sirona website, and its international versions.
The existing design struggled with a clumsy navigation and a high density visual style that read as cluttered to users.
The proposal was to clean up the visual presentation while maintaining all necessary information at a glance. We also worked towards improving interactions and copy, making the interface snappier and easier to understand.

We worked within an established design system, filling the gaps and proposing new components where needed. To keep it efficient, we reused as much patterns and styles as possible, migrating to tokens for spacing and color to make the translation faster and align the new designs to the codebase.

We also took a good look at the shopping flow and interactions within it: what is crucial for the customer at every step of the process, how can we make their experience feel not only faster but clever, by harnessing user data and presenting timely and relevant purchasing opportunities.
Dentsply Sirona has websites for multiples countries which are accessed from a myriad of devices, resolutions and very distinct user personas. Accessibility and readability were key drivers of the design: we established an AI-assisted testing flow to make sure the designs would work for all cases.

In this project, collaboration and adaptability was the key. Working within a big organization like DS taught me that there are highly specific mechanics for specific products where traditional E-commerce patterns may not apply. One needs to be flexible and listen to both the external and internal customer to find a solution that satisfies the buyer but also enables and empowers the content creator, marketeer, sales person, strategist: all the team involved in providing a product and its related services.
